I presumed that if I stopped the FWService.exe from running then Mailwasher may have a chance to do its business. I haven't gone back and reinstalled 6.2 and the Firewall to see what happens but I might if I find the time!! It has taken hours to sort it as far as this. I have updated my ticket with Firetrust to see if they know of any known issues with PC Tools software. As PC Tools software was recommended by Nick Bolton I assume it would have been fully tested. I also have TreatFire loaded and I don't know if I need to have the FW on there as well. Kif001 Rattled Rabbit Posts: 4 Joined: Tue Oct 28, 2008 5:47 am PostRe: Mailwasher 6.3 a big let down!!!! Tue Oct 28, 2008 6:26 am Well, not a "Big" let down, but certainly a disappointment.I've also been using Mailwasher Pro for many years, and this is the first upgrade that's gone awry. I am also having issues with Mailwasher's sluggishness, though with loading, not account interrogating; I'm also having erratic minimising issues. The first prob is that 6.3 is taking much much longer to fire up than past versions, causing my machine to hang while it does, though once MW's going it does seem to access my accounts promptly, and the filters seem unimpaired. But it's not always minimising properly. I have MW set to 'Minimise' to the Task Panel in the bottom right of the Task Bar after processing, but I'm getting left with redundant 'buttons' for WM in the Task Bar itself in addition to the icon in the Task Panel. It's creating clutter, and the only way I can get rid is to shut down MW and re-load (which is taking time, of course), and that method doesn't guarantee that I won't have redundant buttons again when it minimises. Furthermore, when I try to do something about the spurious buttons in the Task Bar (say right clicking to access the 'Close' command), my whole PC freezes for a while. Finally, when I try to launch the minimised MW from the Task Panel, it's slow to respond We’ve added a cool new way to see how much time you’ve tracked against Tasks in your Avaza Projects.View task estimates, actual duration and remaining hours left on your tasks so you can easily analyze your project’s progress at a glance. These visual indicators show the amount of time you’ve tracked against tasks and highlight when you are near or exceeding budgeted number of hours on a task. When you add a new task to your project, you can include the estimated amount of time it will take to finish the task. All tasks that have estimated time entered on them will now have a visual indicator that will help you stay on budget. Here are the three numbers you will see:Time Estimate/Estimated Hours: The number of hours that have been entered on the task.Actual Hours/Actual: The sum of all timesheet entries on that task.Remaining: Task Estimate – Actual Hours. This will be shown in red if you have gone over the time budgeted for that task.Viewing Estimated Time vs Actual TimeIn task list-view, the time estimated for the task, actual hours and remaining time can all be seen by hovering over the Time Estimate icon. The icon colors provide a quick visual on whether your task is on budget, or over budget. Side-by-side (Kanban) task view shows you the same information in a bar format. When a task has no time logged against it, the icon and bar are grey. Figure: Indicators for Tasks that haven’t had any time tracked against them.Once you begin working, the icon starts turning blue as more time is spent on the task, with the grey portion of the icon indicating that there is time still available in the task budget. The culprit was the value "Debugger" under "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\taskmgr.exe". Some older installation of Process Explorer which had not been properly uninstalled had registered itself as the debugger of taskmgr.exe by storing its path in there, but that path did not exist anymore, so windows would refuse to run taskmgr.exe because it could not find the debugger for it. Deleting the "Debugger" value fixed the problem. answered May 18, 2013

Fun I hit ctrl+alt+del and brought up the task manager. only 17 processes were running and for more fun I ended the explorer.exe process then started it again. WHOOOSH BANG, icons and task bar appear. BUT that's all they did, I can open programs, but they will not run. The second I click on them to do anything they freeze and that lovely little post (not responding) shows up on them. I have a feeling I have a very nasty something or rather that may / may not have corrupted my explorer.exe file and extensions? Should I start a new thread and see if perhaps this is a virus of some sort? Do you think there is a chance of recovery? #11 I have Windows XP w/SP3 should I still try to reload the icon cache? I'm not sure it's an icon issue. I've let my computer sit now for a few hours and my programs have finally loaded and will now run......it's very odd and looking more and more like I have some nasty bug running amok in this puter of mine. My task manager has gone from 17 processes to 32. It's letting me access the web now, and my c:\ files and other programs as well. The initial reviews of Camtasia 7 are in. Generally I would have to say that the reviews agree with my first judgement, Camtasia 7 is a great upgrade. But as I am a bit biased (love Camtasia and all that) I thought I’d let some other reviewers have their say. If you are looking to buy Camtasia or upgrade to the new release Camtasia 7, our partnersite, SoftwareCasa offers a number of bonuses.Amit Agarwal of Digital Inspiration is a professional blogger and personal technology columnist. The review is published on Digital Inspiration.Amit says: “If you are already using an older version of Camtasia, the first change that you’ll immediately notice in Camtasia Studio 7 is the revamped UI — they’ve moved from the classic XP like blue design to a black glass-like but non-transparent interface. The vertical task bar is gone and instead, you have a tabbed horizontal bar that gives you quick access to all the various editing tools but you can no longer hide this area.”Amit goes on to mention the new features of the Library and that finds the new feature cursor effects one of the most useful features. On the negative side Amit mentions: “…the built-in title editor is very basic and there’s absolutely no support for rollovers and closing credits. As a workaround, you can produce title videos in Windows Live Movie Maker and import them into Camtasia Studio.”T. Michael Testi is software developer, a writer, and a photographer. His review is published on endonesa.org.Michael cover the new functionality of Camtasia Studio 7 in depth and I am quoting his final judgement here.“I think that with all of the improvements to the prior version like the SmartFocus technology and improved recording engine that running Camtasia Studio 7 was very crisp, clean, and had a noticeable.
