Release Notes for Adobe Captivate (2019 release) Update 4 macOS only- Captivate (2019 release) Update 4 Captivate (2017 release) users The 2017 release of Captivate is not supported on macOS 10.15 Catalina. If you are using Captivate (2017 release), you must upgrade to Captivate (2019 release). The upgrade instructions are in this document. If you still want to continue using Captivate (2017 release), you must downgrade to a supported version of macOS. This document contains late-breaking product information, updates, and troubleshooting tips not covered in the Adobe Captivate documentation. What's new in this update Adobe Captivate (2019 release) Update 4 includes platform support for macOS Catalina 10.15. System requirements For Adobe Captivate system requirements, see System Requirements. If you have purchased an upgrade to Captivate (2019 release) from Captivate (2017 release), and you want to install the latest update, the upgrade serial number is no longer valid. To get the new serial number, contact Captivate support. Download Captivate Download Captivate from the downloads page. Install from dmg file If you do not already have a Captivate installed in your system, go to your Adobe product page, and download Captivate (2019 release) Update 4. Double-click the .dmg file. On the panel, click the folder Adobe Captivate 2019. To start installing Captivate, click Install. After you cick Install, a pop-up appears that prompts you to click Open and proceed further. Click Open. Choose the options and to proceed, click Continue. To launch Captivate, click Launch. Update to the latest version Ensure that Captivate 11.0.0.243 or 11.0.1.266 or 11.5.0.476 or 11.5.1.499 build version is already installed. Open Adobe Captivate, and choose Help > Check for Updates. The Adobe Captivate Updater appears. After clicking Update Now, the update starts to install. When the installation is complete, you can see the Update Complete dialog. Update Complete Click Close or to start Adobe Captivate, click Launch. After installing this update, verify that the build number is 11.5.4.612. On the toolbar, click Help > About Adobe Captivate. Known issues in this update In macOS 10.15 , for AME round-tripping to work from Captivate , launch AME from outside Captivate for the first time, and then round-trip with AME from within Captivate. In macOS 10.15, when you sign in with your Adobe credentials, you may have to sign in again to access services, for example, Adobe Stock or Community. Its a bit frustrating I know, and many of the adobe apps integrate with Captivate very well. I recently presented about 10 Hacks While using Captivate and the Creative Cloud at Adobe Learning Summit.... but it seems to make sense to use them. I was confused about it as well..... CC Libraries are now integrated so that is pretty neat! And a bunch of Adobe apps integrate very well or have round-trip editing capabilities. Some really cool features like importing Photoshop files.But to answer your question ..... they are a business..... and the point is to make money.So lets say they have 500 Captivate Subscriptions, that's $15,000 per month, or $180,000 per year. If they added Captivate to the Creative Cloud now...... they would be giving away $180,000 per year.... and I assume they have a lot more than 500 subscriptions!For CC users, we would get ANOTHER free app --- which we are getting with the new XD, Dimension, Character Animator, CC Libraries, Adobe Stock, Lightroom CC, to name a few, and a whole new set coming our way. But they would just lose money. I guess it started out separate, as a Macromedia application, and now it seems like its just not cost effective to add it?just my two cents....
